The mission of Books for Keeps is to inspire joyful experiences around literacy that can be forever associated with learning. We believe in a world where it is accepted that literacy is a human right that belongs to all people and begins with a literacy-rich childhood.
Whether through our book access or literacy mentor programs – Books for Keeps seeks to help establish communities where it is understood that books can be used as bridges or gateways to opportunity for every person, regardless of their life circumstances.
Books given to date
Since its start as a volunteer-led, grassroots program, Books for Keeps has distributed more than 1.5 million books to children, teachers, fellow peer agencies, and other individuals in Georgia through its book access programs.
