That’s a wrap on the 4th Annual Community Book Fair! For the first three weekends in October, the Books for Keeps team opened the doors to our 12,000 square foot book warehouse, inviting visitors from all over to take home up to 100 books per day (for keeps!)
Our Community Book Fair is completely free for the community, made possible by our event sponsors who provide financial support, community members who donate books and host book drives throughout the year, and volunteers who support event operations. This event exists to further book access in our community and beyond, supporting literacy-rich environments for all. We love getting to meet the teachers, caregivers, community advocates, nonprofit staffers, Little Free Library owners, and more who come through our doors to fill a BFK tote bag with books to share with their community.
This year, we had a record number of visitors, books distributed, and more!
66,275 free books taken home for keeps to help expand book access in our community and beyond
2,567 community members of all ages visited the book fair, including 1,121 first-time visitors
228 volunteer hours given to support book fair operations
233 unique counties represented by our guests
Thank you to our 2023 event sponsors! Their financial support helps keep this event free for our community!
